About Allison Jane Smith

I'm a freelance editor specializing in health, civics, public policy and tech. I work with think tanks and non-profit organizations in Canada and around the world.

I have worked for the World Health Organization and for a wide range of clients. For two years, I was an editor at WhyDev, a thought leader in the international development community, and my writing has been featured in The Washington Post, The Ottawa Citizen, Bitch, Canadaland and the Rumpus, among others.

Originally from Manitoba, Canada, I now live in Ottawa, after six years living in Asia. Living and working with people from different cultures has helped me to understand the nuances of communicating to different audiences.
